The series began with a theatrical feature film that was released on August 15, 2008, and debuted on Cartoon Network two months later on October 3, 2008.
The series showcases the events that stem from the Separatist Crisis resulting to whole scale war which leads to the formation of the Intergalactic Empire and the annihilation of the Jedis.
